I was notified today that my Grandma Claytor has passed away. I have not had the opportunity to be around her much the last few years - but, whenever I traveled to Butte - I always made the effort to stop in and say and I love you. Unfortunately, my Uncle who was very distraught was not able to reach me in time for her funeral (this morning). He felt horrible - I told him I can say goodbye on my knees and that he should not feel bad. I'm sure in his grief - it wasn't a priority on his list. I did tell him I would come over soon and he said he was anxious to see me. So...since I can't be there in person here is a tribute and a goodbye to this special lady - I think her obituary says it all.
10/09/1917 ~ 11/23/2008
Vivian
Crawford Claytor, 91, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008. With her children and
special great-granddaughter at her side, Vivian passed from this world
to a heavenly place.
Hers was a simple but long and beautiful
life with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who all
loved her very much. She loved cooking and baking for all to gather at
her table. She enjoyed decorating while listening to her favorite tunes
on the radio. In the spring and summer she tended and hand watered her
garden flowers.
Vivian was born Oct. 9, 1917, in Wheat Basin, near Billings, to William and Elizabeth (Lugten) Crawford.
She
had two brothers, one sister and a brother-in-law, all who preceded her
in death along with her two sons, Jimmy Smidt and Earl Smidt, and
son-in-law, Roland Aamold.
Vivian is survived by her daughter,
Vivian Aamold of Butte; son, Leo and devoted daughter-in-law, Toni
Smidt of Butte; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Craig Britton of
Butte; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved her dearly.
Her family will inter
her ashes with her mother in late spring when the sweet peas are in
bloom.
I am not sure why 2008 has been such a year of loss - but with each death I am reminded that I have a strong testimony of the gospel and of eternal families. I pray that Heavenly Father keeps them all safe in his arms until we are reunited!

Oh Lesli, I'm so sorry for your loss. This has been a very rough year for you. I am thinking of you!

all this say of how you need to treasure the time with the loved ones you have around you and you can't even tell your sister that she had passed away, I had to find out like a common stranger and read your blog.
